Zine Design

For this project, I wanted to do something a little different than a real, physical six-step process. I stumbled on the idea of “What Happens In Your Brain When You Fall In Love.” I thought that this was such a cute and whimsical idea because it combines the heartwarming aesthetics of love with the textbook definitions of brain psychology.

Once I settled on my topic, I put together a mood board for aesthetics and colors and fonts. I knew I wanted a combination of big and curvy fonts and a serious textbook type font. I made my sketches and started placing elements on the cardboard on my Canva file.

I gathered Canva elements to use on each panel of my zine, and from there I tried different designs and formatting to see what I liked. In the end, I decided to keep a more minimalistic design with less elements everywhere. On the back, I decided to make a glossary for all the neuroscience terms mentioned on each panel.
